Historique :	Alain-Marie Michel-Villeblanche (Saint-Servan, 3 mai 1824-?, après 1882). Le 12 mars 1857, sur la recommandation de M. Berger, sénateur, ancien préfet de la Seine, Michel-Villeblanche recevait commande d'un tableau religieux qu'un arrêté du 1er mai suivant attribua à l'église de Celles-sur-Durolle, dont la paroisse avait sainte Anne pour patronne. Une lettre de l'artiste en date du 2 août 1858 atteste que le tableau, acquis par l'Etat au prix de deux mille francs, est alors achevé.
