Historique :	Le peintre s'est inspiré du nouveau type iconographique apparu à l'époque de la Contre-Réforme, dans la second moitié du 17e siècle. Un tableau identique existe à Thuret (village des environs de Riom). Il a été classé le 20 septembre 1982, avec son cadre sculpté doré du 17e siècle. Guy François est né au Puy-en-Velay en 1578, il meurt en 1650.
